About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimating & Pricing Officer to join our team primarily based in Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney, reporting to the Estimating & Pricing Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be required to use sound leadership and management skills to support the resolution of commercial cost and estimating and pricing issues using a sound understanding of the wider financial, project management and customer impacts of the solutions proposed.
Key responsibilities include: Support the delivery of bids and proposals as directed by your line manager. Work collaboratively with the Bid Team to ensure the delivery of accurate, value-for-money proposals to the Commonwealth of Australia. Ensure that all proposals adhere to BAE Systems Australia's E&P Processes and Procedures. Ensure the proper preparation and maintenance of the pricing tool (ProPricer/Excel) throughout each bid. Provide advice and management of Basis of Estimates (BoEs) with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) through each stage of the Bid Life Cycle. Assist the bid team with the preparation of Phase Review data, Request for Bid Approval (RBA) data, and Customer Pricing tables. Adhere to Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) Cost Principles/Profit Principles and US Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations. Ensure that the Contract E&P Requirements are met. Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives. About YOU Prior estimating experience is desirable (however please note this is not a technical estimating position, this role will coordinate processes and provide expert advice.) Tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be highly regarded. Strong numerical and analytical skills, with an ability to identify potential issues within an estimate and develop solutions. The ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different teams. The ability to balance conflicting priorities coupled with an ability to support negotiations and influence internal and external stakeholders in order to generate business benefits, whilst maintaining key relationships. Proficient user of MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
