Details: POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director – Learning Software and Design is passionate about building products that customers love. As part of our critical leadership position, you will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build, and project manage the roll-out of products that deliver the Education Directorate's vision and strategy.
We are looking for an individual who will work with business and technology stakeholders to consult, define, and implement digital products for the ACT Education Directorate. Our candidate can define and assure best practice whilst influencing, leading, and mentoring others. You will help embed products within our service delivery to ensure the needs of the ACT Education Directorate are met. Our ideal candidate will translate ideas into strategy and features, and follow a customer-centric, design wheel approach. You will be confident in articulating product requirements or roadmaps and incorporate feedback and input from stakeholders on product suitability. To succeed in this role, you should be a perceptive and creative leader and a reliable problem-solver. Extensive knowledge of information technology, information management, and service design as it relates to the education sector will be highly regarded.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Senior Director Learning Software and Design develop business and ICT solutions and products to engage students and transform learning and teaching in ACT public schools. A strong focus on safe use of AI in schools, managing education software and Google Workspace for Education will be championed by this role supporting 55,000 students and 7,500 educators. Lead initiatives to enhance the safe use of digital technologies in ACT public schools by supporting the implementation of products through change management and relevant risk assessments. Deliver digital services through the application of project management methodologies (including agile), ITIL frameworks, and service design methodologies. You will have excellent communication skills that allow you to represent the Directorate with our users and can write briefs and product artefacts to support the delivery of effective digital services. Develop strong strategic working relationships with vendors to ensure ACT Education needs (immediate and future) are met. Represent the Directorate and the Digital Strategy, Services, and Transformation Branch at a wide range of government and non-government forums. Work in accordance with, and uphold the ACT Government Policies, Respect, Equity and Diversity Framework, and the directorate's Work Health and Safety system. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: HIGHLY DESIRABLE Experience in an Education setting will be highly regarded. Driver's license with access to a private car. Note: This is a temporary position available 10 February 2025 until 7 March 2025.
