Temporary opportunity to March 2026 with possibility of extensionFull-time role - 35 hours per week + FlexTimeNewcastle location preferred; however, any NSW office location will be considered for the right candidate - regional location/hybrid working supportedSalary ranges from $93,295.00 to $102,941.00 + super + leave loadingOur Strategic Finance team is currently seeking to appoint an Associate Strategic Finance Officer to join the Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR), to undertake analysis, financial reporting and improvement initiatives, to support the development and delivery of water compliance outcomes for the people and communities of NSW.
The Associate Strategic Finance Officer will assist the finance team to complete tasks and implement plans. You will demonstrate a strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service and provide excellent support to our key stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in the month-end and reconciliation process and provide budget and forecasting support to deliver outcomes for NRAR's diverse teams and branches.
About You Our ideal candidate will hold the following key knowledge, experience and skills:
Relevant experience and/or tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or commerceKnowledge and understanding of the application of the Government Sector Finance Act 2018, Treasurer's Directions and Australian Accounting Standards and relevant Government policiesGood knowledge of MS Excel and other MS products and reporting toolsExcellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentThis is also an excellent opportunity for a graduate in accounting or finance keen to establish a career in the Public Sector, offering exceptional career development and advancement opportunities.
