Associate R&A FIG Australia Division:  Institutional
Location:  Sydney
About Us At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers. Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.
About the Role As an Associate, Research & Analysis ("R&A") FIG Australia in our Team, you'll play a key role in helping to focus on the portfolio management of customers within the Diversified Financials segment. Your primary responsibilities include credit risk assessment (financial analysis, legal documentation, product and policy requirements etc.) and maintaining a well-managed portfolio of customers.
You will be required to engage with the Global FIG R&A, Relationship and Risk teams; Global Capital Markets; legal, operations and other product areas.
The role also requires strong customer focus with accountability to drive outcomes to meet customer requirements, while balancing non-financial risks evident across the client set, working in very close collaboration with the Relationship Managers.
FIG is a global, high returning growth sector, with a focus on continuous improvement and ongoing client acquisition in which the FIG R&A team are at the forefront, continually looking to make real change to improve our efficiency and effectiveness.

Banking is changing and we're changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you'll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
What will your day look like? As an Associate, Research & Analysis ("R&A") FIG Australia, you will:
Capture valuable business and cross-sell opportunities within acceptable risk appetite through deep client/industry understanding, underpinned by high quality analysis.
Apply advanced credit/risk assessment skills and strong deal structuring capabilities to execute complex transactions jointly with Relationship Managers, Product Partners and Institutional Risk.
Conduct industry specific research and ongoing portfolio management functions to ensure the portfolio is well managed.
Be proactive in communication and represent your client set to relevant stakeholders and in the various risk management forums.
What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Strong research and analytical skills – contributing to customer growth initiatives and to enhance the first line of defense alongside the R&A team and the Relationship Managers.
Prior experience in a credit analytical role is required – knowledge of product and legal capabilities will be highly regarded.
Ability to communicate clearly – both verbal and written, to manage internal stakeholder and client expectations.
An interest in the Diversified Financials segment – previous experience with Financial Institution clients would be highly advantageous.
A curious individual who is always willing to learn, challenge themselves and the status quo – active involvement in credit process transformation is desired.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute positively to the team culture.

You're not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we'd love to hear from you.
So why join us? From the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.
But it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact. you'll feel it too. Because at ANZ, you'll have the resources, opportunities, and support you need to take the next big step in your career.
We're a diverse bunch at ANZ in different roles, different locations, doing different things. That's why we have a range of flexible working arrangements, so our people can 'make work, work for them'. We also provide a range of benefits including access to health and wellbeing services and discounts on selected products and services from ANZ and more.
At ANZ, you'll be part of an organisation where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated. That's because we're committed to building a workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone and encourage you to talk to us about any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself. If you are a candidate with a disability or access requirement, let us know how we can provide you with additional support.
