What part will you play?
SFS Project and Structured Finance Debt-EA (SFS PS EA) is one of the four financial services-oriented Business Units at SFS. The purpose of SFS PS EA is to provide structured debt finance for the European, Middle East, African and Asia-Australian regions, mainly through the Munich headquartered Siemens Bank GmbH and its branches in London and Singapore.
We are looking for an Associate Director, Debt Origination with good knowledge of project & structured finance in the Australian market to join our origination team based in Sydney, Australia.
You will be responsible for identifying, arranging and transacting project finance opportunities, typically as part of a bank lead arranging group, or alternatively acquired on a primary or secondary syndication basis. You will work in an inspiring environment within a highly motivated culture, where an enthused team focuses on the customer and on best practices.
Your key tasks and responsibilities:
As a preferred candidate you must have relationships with arranging banks, advisors, private equity developers and/or funds as well as key stakeholders in the borrower community.
We require suitable skills in deal structuring, credit and legal expertise related to structured finance, as well as experience in negotiation/ evaluation of loan documentation including term sheets, loan agreements, intercreditor/ subordination agreements, purchase, and sale agreements, etc. as part of a deal team.
Our preferred candidate is expected to help develop, grow, and manage a pipeline and backlog of deals to meet or exceed business targets. At the same time, the role requires you to help serve the Siemens Business Companies and their customer's projects with targeted debt solutions in line with the Project and Structured Finance Debt franchise's strategy and in close collaboration with the Head and fellow team members.
What requirements do you need to meet?
Bachelor's Degree, preferably with a financial background.
Min 5 years transactional experience with at least 2-3 years' experience in the Australian market and preferably already be based in Sydney.
You should have a good commercial understanding and awareness of the Australian finance industry in context of project and structured finance debt and demonstrate good analytical skills.
Knowledge of the Energy & Infrastructure Sectors, and potentially experience in nascent technologies such as Battery Energy Storage, Datacenters and Electromobility - including knowledge of key players, market dynamics and business mechanics - will be an added advantage.
Previous experience in involvement, negotiation and execution of project and structured finance transactions as part of a deal team will be required. In this regard, you should be able to demonstrate your participation in successful deals closed in the past 3 years.
You should possess good communication skills and be able and willing to work in a multicultural environment.
Medium amount of travelling will be required by you.
