As Associate Director, Indigenous Outcomes, you will play a crucial role in shaping and overseeing how Indigenous communities are meaningfully involved in the region's major infrastructure developments.
From Carnarvon to Karratha, Port Hedland to Broome and Kununurra, you'll ensure that Indigenous voices are central to every project, contributing to sustainable, community-driven outcomes in Western Australia.
This role has the flexibility to be located in Perth, Broome, Karratha, or Port Hedland, Western Australia.
Your Opportunity to Make an Impact: Shape Strategies: Work closely with project proponents to develop and deliver Indigenous Engagement Strategies (IES) that meet NAIF's criteria and elevate community outcomes.Data-Driven Insights: Research Indigenous demographics, workforce trends, and socio-economic factors to ensure well-informed strategies and investment decisions.Community Connector: Be a bridge between project proponents and Indigenous stakeholders to foster collaboration and partnership.Guide Decision-Making: Provide comprehensive analysis, due diligence, and performance reviews to inform NAIF Board decisions on investment strategies.Drive Innovation: Help us continuously improve NAIF's IES guidelines by gathering feedback from Indigenous leaders and stakeholders and researching similar programs in government and the private sector.Champion Indigenous Voices: Build strong, enduring relationships with Indigenous communities, Traditional Owners, and key organisations to ensure their priorities are reflected in our investments.Be a Storyteller: Share the impact of our work by helping the communications team create case studies and write articles for NAIF's newsletters, website, and other media.What We're Looking For: This is an identified role for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.A deep respect for and experience working with Indigenous communities in economic and social development, particularly in areas like community engagement, employment, and procurement.Strong cultural capability, with a solid understanding of First Nations cultural protocols.Excellent research skills, with a knack for turning economic and population data into actionable insights.Confidence in negotiation and conflict resolution, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.Clear, persuasive communication skills – you can present ideas with impact, both in writing and verbally.A strategic thinker who can handle ambiguity and thrive in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment.A high degree of integrity and trustworthiness – you're someone people can rely on.A clean social media presence, with the ability to handle the high level of external scrutiny that comes with the role.Willingness to travel across northern Australia, particularly Western Australia.Our Culture: At NAIF, we are driven by our purpose, values, and commitment to inclusion.
