This is a full-time, 5-year fixed-term opportunity.About the OpportunityReporting to the Chief Operating Officer and forming part of our Senior Leadership team, the Associate Director of Governance and Strategy will lead the Governance and Strategy Program providing strong leadership and efficient management to achieve the Council's strategic objectives. Your focus will encompass Council Governance, Corporate Governance, Strategic and Corporate Planning, Community Engagement, and the Project Management Office. This role is critical in delivering the organisational goals and political drivers in line with the Strategic Plan 2024-2028.In this role, you will support a positive workplace culture and foster a high-performing program that delivers professional governance and strategic planning services. You will lead the development of the Annual Business Plan and Budget, collaborate on four-year Strategic Planning processes, and develop and implement governance and organisational planning frameworks. Additionally, you will oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), champion community engagement, and support the sharing of research and insights to inform strategy and policy development.Your responsibilities will also include the provision of strategic advice on complex governance matters, interpreting relevant legislation, and serving as the Responsible Officer for Public Interest Disclosures. You'll report to and present at Council and Committee meetings, coordinate key meetings, and undertake strategic initiatives aligned with the Council's objectives and plans.
