We are assisting one of our longest standing clients, a national underwriting agency with strengths in Professional Indemnity and General Liability, in their search for an Assistant Underwriter.Summary objective of roleThe Assistant Underwriter supports the Underwriting team with efficient administration support.Sending out renewal invitations to brokers.Sending out non-express renewals to brokers.Processing new policies and policy renewals in the underwriter system, including preparation of Certificates of Currency and related document management.Following up outstanding and upcoming renewals and new business.Maintaining broker information and logins to the online system.Answering phone calls and taking messages.General administration and office duties as required.Required skills and competenciesA professional and positive can-do attitude.High-level attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organisational skills.Very good IT skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.Strong sense of accountability.Excellent customer service skills, including written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work in a small team.Qualifications and experienceExperience in working in a busy, high-volume environment.Experience in underwriting in professional indemnity is ideal; other classes considered.Strong experience in administration would be an advantage.
