The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is a historic and transformative endeavor for Australia.
The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting-edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia's economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
ResponsibilitiesProvide accurate and timely advice to senior management and business partners within ASA on the budgetary and forecast requirements for the Submarine build phase;Work collaboratively with Industry Partners to assess and investigate cost claims to ensure they are complete, accurate and comply with contract clauses, laws, finance policies & regulations;Ensure project costs have the appropriate accounting treatment and classification of expenditures including the capitalisation of assets, and that they comply with ASA accounting policies and other requirements pursuant to the Public Governance & Performance Accountability Act 2013;Review, implement and translate strategic objectives and initiatives when undertaking development or analysis of SSPD Branch cost estimates;Develop systems and processes to aid in the management and administration of applicable Business Work Plans and Instructions relating to the costing requirements of SSPD;Identify and communicate Program cost risks to SSPD Managers and provide effective solutions, where practical, to rectify them.About our TeamThe SSPD Program Cost team is part of the Business and Operations Directorate and is responsible for managing the cost and forecasting components of the SSNAUKUS Phase 3 Build, from a project management perspective.
The Assistant Program Cost Director is an integral part of the Cost team and will have an opportunity to embed business program processes, ensuring a clear and consistent approach that aligns with the management accounting activities.
The position will collaborate with an array of internal and external partners to secure financial and costing information for the submarine build Phase, and will work under broad direction from the Program Business Director and manage a small team.
