About the Division and Branch The Schools Human Resources Division implements strategic workforce initiatives, provides human resource services, and strategic human resource policy advice in areas of school employee relations, payroll, recruitment, and provision of HR data.
The Policy Workplace Relations and Initiatives Branch is responsible for providing industrial and employee relations support to Victorian government schools and implementing initiatives to increase teacher supply across the State.
About the Role Operating in a fast-paced, customer-focused workforce initiatives team, the Assistant Manager (Senior HR Advisor) will lead and deliver workforce initiatives and support services to build teacher supply to Victorian government schools. We are looking for high-performing professionals who thrive on teamwork and initiative to lead recruitment strategies and provide sound advice to stakeholders.
This role provides the opportunity to lead the implementation of strategic workforce initiatives while delivering high-quality customer service and client support to schools and the teaching service. By maintaining strong collaborative stakeholder relationships, you will apply your creativity and passion for service to help grow the teacher pipeline in Victoria's government schools.
Your role will involve optimizing the team's skills to support strategic decision-making and enhance people management for workforce planning, creating a positive environment, and driving a culture of excellence in customer service through expert HR advice and tailored workforce support solutions.
Attributes Manage and lead a team of Project Officers/Business Partners, including workload allocation and supervision.Provide leadership, information, and guidance to achieve outcomes that meet project and policy objectives.Lead and drive the delivery of workforce initiatives and complex HR systems.Consult regularly with the Manager and contribute to reports, briefs, and business plans.Identify and address barriers while devising effective solutions.Develop key business resources and communication action plans to foster partnerships with schools.Support project management and procurement processes as required.Desirable Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualifications are desired, along with experience in project management or as a human resources business partner.
