The Assistant Manager, Buying and Merchandising will be key in driving success of The Disney Store (TDS) APAC by partnering with the Senior Manager Buying & Planning to deliver a consumer-right and relevant product assortment range for TDS APAC online channel.
Taking ownership of assigned product categories, he/she will drive the end-to-end buy strategy to achieve TDS APAC financial objectives.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, problem solver, results oriented and analytical with a passion for e Commerce.
Responsibilities: Product Merchandising: Develop a consumer-centric product range plan, aligning product assortment with big bets and seasonal / thematic events in each franchise for assigned categories.
Develop weekly product launch plans based on the buy ensuring newness and excitement for TDS APAC channel for each quarter.
Drive commercial top-line and bottom-line growth on TDS APAC through the ownership of local pricing for assigned product categories.
Have insights on sales trends, consumer's online shopping behavior and competitor analysis to deliver an optimal, trend-right & consumer-centric product assortment.
Develop the assortment plan for O&O assortments, including TDSJ, TDSC and Parks developed Products and curate quarterly Visual Line plan for assigned categories.
Work hand in hand with Product internal team – Merchandising/Buying on assortment/buying selection to curate a full range; Planning on quarterly buy plan and Operations on item and PO creation.
Work with 3rd party vendors in for E2 E process from ordering to fulfillment.
Work closely with Sourcing team to monitor delivery updates and changes to product, launch plans and make market right decision to assortment plan.
Go-to-market: Set local pricing for assigned categories ensuring market competitiveness.
Drive Monthly POOH together with Merchandising and Buying Manager to ensure proper product handover to site production and site merch team.
Participate in weekly Wall-E sessions to drive the monthly launch planning with TDS APAC wider audience to review of impact of product shifts and provide recommendations.
Requirements: Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in retail merchandising and/or buying.
Proven experience working in consumer environments with an appreciation of e Commerce business.
Preferably have experience in Softline technical knowledge in fashion.
Proven track record in managing and implementing merchandising & planning for APAC region.
Proven experience working cross-functionally.
Proven experience in working in dynamic, cross-cultural team.
Proven experience in e Commerce merchandise planning is a plus.
Core skills: You possess knowledge of e-commerce behaviour, trends and strategy.
You possess good negotiation and partnership skills with external vendors.
You possess a strong understanding of consumer mentality and consumer empathy.
You are an excellent communicator and comfortable presenting at all levels internally and externally.
You are comfortable working in a start-up environment, take ownership, an inventive problem-solver, and maintain a high level of accountability.
You can collaborate well with others and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
You are comfortable with multi-tasking and delivering to your goals as planned.
