Assistant Golf Course SuperintendentThe Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and is responsible for assisting in the overall management and maintenance of the hotel's golf course and Fairmont Southampton Resorts landscaping overall.
This includes supporting the oversight of all aspects of the golf course's operations, including turfgrass management, irrigation, pest control, and landscaping.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of golf course management principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and organizational skills to help support the Superintendent.What You Will Be Doing:Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive maintenance plan for the golf course as well as the resort's landscaping overall.Support the oversight of the day-to-day golf course and resort landscaping maintenance operations and staff.Help manage best practices for golf course upkeep and resort landscaping in alignment with environmental and health standards.Contribute to the management of the golf course's and resort's landscaping budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.Work to maintain the golf course and Fairmont Southampton's Resort grounds to the highest standards of quality.Ensure the work areas and equipment are cleaned and properly maintained each day.Collaborate with the Director of Golf to promote and market the golf course.Provide excellent customer service and support to golf course patrons and resort guests.Oversee the safe and responsible use of chemicals, fertilizers, and other maintenance products on the golf course and throughout the resort landscaping.Develop and implement protocols for proper chemical storage, handling, and application to protect the environment and ensure worker safety.Monitor compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices related to chemical usage on the golf course and resort grounds.Train and supervise the grounds crew on the correct techniques for applying chemicals and maintaining accurate records.Continuously research and recommend improvements to the course's and resort's chemical management programs to enhance sustainability and environmental stewardship.Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:3+ years of experience in a golf course supervisor/leadership roleStrong understanding of golf course management principles and practices, including turfgrass management, irrigation, pest control, and landscapingExcellent leadership and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAdditional Information
