Team Overview The Mental Health and Research team is responsible for the delivery of evidence-based innovative programs and initiatives that influence how Comcare meets its strategic intent to promote and enable safe and healthy work, including mentally healthy workplaces.
The team, comprising both Mental Health and Research functions, engages collaboratively across the business and with external stakeholders to conduct and translate research to deliver a positive impact for the Scheme.
The key duties of the position include:The Assistant Director, Research and Engagement is responsible for leading and managing innovative initiatives and research programs for the Comcare scheme.
The Assistant Director, Research and Engagement will ensure the utilisation of data and evidence-based approaches in the development, monitoring, evaluation, translation, and promotion of applied research.
The role has a strong focus on developing, managing and sustaining internal and external senior stakeholder relationships to ensure successful knowledge translation and achievement of outcomes that inform better practice across the scheme.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide high-level advice to the Executive, and coordinate and assume responsibility for research programs that are often technically complex, politically sensitive and of significant strategic importance.
Lead research projects including the development of strategic documents, external contracts and partnering in research design, development, implementation, evaluation and translation.
Undertake synthesis of academic research and/or statistical analysis to identify opportunities relevant for the Comcare Scheme.
Represent Comcare at working groups, steering committees and other collaborations between Comcare, WHS industry partners, and research service providers.
Collaborate extensively with stakeholders to ensure projects and initiatives meet business and industry needs.
Collaborate, build and manage environmental scanning, evidence synthesis and information dissemination and ensure effective knowledge translation for the scheme.
Lead, influence and drive team performance to deliver research projects and key initiatives in accordance with agreed scope, time, cost and expected outcomes, whilst managing risks.
Adopt an agile and collaborative way of working including responding to broader business needs as they arise.
Qualifications and ExperienceMandatory:• Tertiary qualifications in research and/or relevant health field.
• Experience with research synthesis and data analysis, including use of SPSS, Qualtrics and/or similar programs.Desirable:• Experience working within work health and safety and/or workers' compensation fields.
