Assistant Director of Nursing, First 2000 DaysWe have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for you to join our Reform Office based in Brisbane CBD! The First 2000 Days program is a key initiative within the HEALTHQ32 and the Reform Strategy. The program works collaboratively with cross-governmental agencies and the Department of Premier and Cabinet to improve the development and early lives of Queensland's children by focusing on the critical window of opportunity between conception to five years of age. The First 2000 Days program aims to positively influence a child's health, development, learning, safety, and lifelong outcomes through enhanced service offerings and coordination.
The Assistant Director of Nursing, First 2000 Days will help to lead the strategic direction and implementation for maternity, neonatal, and child health related projects and priorities identified within the First 2000 Days program.
The role will work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders across Queensland to promote an integrated and clear approach for the implementation of the First 2000 Days program.
The Assistant Director of Nursing role will work collaboratively with other areas within the Reform Office, Department of Health and Hospital and Health Services, and other government agencies to ensure consultation, design, and strategic direction is aligned and integrated.
The successful person You will have demonstrated:
Strategic, conceptual, critical thinking, and analytical capability relevant to a range of social and health priority areas within children's and family health and a proven track record in identifying, negotiating, influencing, and implementing solutions to complex problems.Ability to distil expertise and intelligence from clinical and professional stakeholders to actively inform and contribute to state-wide priorities.Project management skills, including the capability to develop, implement, analyse, and evaluate policy and program-related projects.Ability to identify, scale, spread and adapt best practice and innovative models of care at a regional and state-wide level.Ability to build and strengthen partnerships across the health system, working collaboratively within a complex multi-disciplinary environment.Ability to multitask and priority set complex issues in a highly visible and politically sensitive sector, including the ability to prepare written briefs and reports to the Director-General, Minister and or departmental leaders on a range of nursing / midwifery professional issues.About us The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
