The Finance and Business Services team supports Economic Development manage finance and budgeting. We are looking for an Assistant Director with sound financial knowledge, extremely strong collaboration skills, and a 'can do' attitude–all essential to this role.
What does the day of the Assistant Director, Finance Services look like? You will help executives and creative experts understand how finance and budgets work, lead simplified collaborative financial discussions, develop and prepare strategic and operational budgets and reporting, as well as manage a variety of ad-hoc requests whilst supervising the daily operations of a small team. You will be supported with your professional capability development and opportunities for career growth which include the opportunity to drive change initiatives.
You will need to be a confident effective communicator, able to get your head around complex issues quickly, and deliver solutions for a multitude of problems.
Notes: This position is temporary available for six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A merit pool may be established to fill future vacancies over the next 12 months. This position operates in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Opportunities for flexible working options will be considered including hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT.
