About the role Corrective Services is responsible for WA's adult prison and youth detention as well as adults and young people managed within the community. Corrective Services is committed to protecting the community, the people in our care and each other.

The position of Assistant Commissioner offers exciting opportunities to lead and manage a portfolio of corrective services functions to achieve the strategic priorities in the delivery of corrective services across Western Australia.

We require you to submit: Provide a comprehensive Resume (limited to five pages), including the contact details of two referees.A two-page statement addressing your experience in successfully developing, implementing strategic and operational plans for the delivery of complex programs and services in a highly regulated and dynamic environment.All remaining Essential Selection Criteria from the Leadership Expectations will be assessed at a later stage in the recruitment process.
Pool Recruitment This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Fixed term, full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.

It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL ONE security clearance as a condition of employment and maintaining the clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL ONE security clearance.
