About the OpportunityWe have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as an Assistant Accountant based at Macquarie Park. The Assistant Accountant will assist with the accounting and reporting responsibilities of the Food - Commercial business. The role will mainly focus on month end tasks including month end close, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting.NB: We have x1 Fixed Term Contract for 10mths and x1 Permanent Full-Time role available.In this RolePreparation of timely monthly and quarterly reporting for the Food - Commercial business.Accurate preparation of monthly journals and balance sheet reconciliations in line with Metcash reporting timelines.Assist one of the Food - Commercial Managers with external auditors during half-year review and full-year audit.Improvement to existing processes including the streamlining of reporting in line with pillar requirements.Ad-hoc project work as required.You're Likely a Match IfAt least 2 years work experience (does not have to be in finance).Graduate degree in accounting or similar.CPA / CA qualified or looking to complete either post graduate course.Previous experience working with SAP, TM1, Power Enterprise, Power Query and PowerPivot would be an advantage.Good attitude who is keen to learn.Life at MetcashExperience a supportive and flexible work environment.
