Job Description The Role We have an opportunity to join the Medline finance team on a 9 month contract for an Assistant Accountant. Reporting into the Financial Accountant, this role will support across a number of key accounting tasks including: Support the Financial Accountant to ensure Medline's global monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines are met and are compliant with Medline's accounting policies and procedures Timely completion of all assigned tasks for month-end close process per the month-end checklist Support the financial accounting function in ANZ including preparation and maintenance of relevant journals and accounting accruals to the trial balance level and reconciliations for all assigned financial accounts Responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the financial accounting G/L accounts for all entities. This includes prompt follow-up and resolution of any accounting discrepancies Support expense reporting function by reviewing invoices and expenses in Concur on a daily basis. Manage credit card statements and reconciling expenses, by liaising with credit card holders to ensure correct and timely submissions. Manage allocation of travel expenses from Corporate traveler monthly statements You will work 3 days from the office and 2 days from home, with the flexibility to attend the office during month end on a full time basis. Desired Skills and Experience A career with a difference To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or associated degree. Solid technical accounting skills and practical knowledge of the principles of financial accounting and accounting standards in an import and/or distribution business Advanced Excel, and MS Office skills (essential) Power BI skills will be highly regarded but not essential You will be a confident communicator, have great organization and time management skills so that you can deliver to tight deadlines.
