A great place to work
When you join Capricorn, you become a part of something bigger than a typical company, because as a co-operative we exist to improve the lives of our Members by supporting them in building stronger businesses – not the other way around.
We are purpose-led and are committed to empowering our community to thrive. Our community includes our employees, and we know what is important to them, because we asked! And here's our commitments to you:

Provide a diverse and inclusive workplace – because we know how important it is for everyone to be treated fairly and with respect.
Give you flexibility – it's important to recognise we are all unique and need to create work life balance.
Offer paid parental leave – that supports both parent's leave and their transition back to work.
Create a fun environment – our social calendar is full up with a range of different virtual and face-to-face events to keep us connected.
Work perks – that our employees actually use, such as a fantastic reward and recognition program, wellness program, additional leave purchase and so much more!

The role and what we are looking for
Capricorn's Area Managers are here to develop business with our existing Members and Preferred Suppliers, as well as establishing new business within a designated Sales territory with the goal of achieving membership and sales growth for the organisation. Based from your own home office, travelling to meet Members and Suppliers is key to this role and as such regular travel to rural areas away from home will be necessary based on the sales territory. Reporting to the Sales Manager you will work autonomously but always part of the greater NSW team.
The successful applicant will have:

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and maintain a proactive call plan.
Develop, maintain, and execute strategic territory plans to drive and achieve sales targets.
Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, developing initiatives to address gaps and optimise opportunities.
Offer outstanding customer support to drive sales and build long-term relationships.
Attend sales meetings and complete regular required reporting on time.
Build, foster and retain good working relations with all key decision-makers internally and externally to the business.
Relationship management experience with strong business and commercial acumen;
Report on day-to-day activities, market trends, and competitor information.
Ability to work autonomously whilst completing all tasks on time.
Ability to effectively communicate with varying stakeholders across the business.

About You?

Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Commercially minded, you are always looking to create and expand on opportunities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude and exemplary service to our members and suppliers.
Current driver's licence and current driving history report will be required.
High level of autonomy coupled with the ability to plan, negotiate, and present.
Strong MS office skills would be an advantage (Word, Excel, Outlook).
An understanding of the automotive parts and service industry would be an advantage.
A solid understanding of business and corporate legislation - particularly as it relates to cooperatives and the Trade Practices Act would be an advantage.

Who are we?
Capricorn is a member-based financial services organisation which exists to improve the lives of over 25,000 Members across Australia and New Zealand by supporting them in building stronger automotive businesses. We provide products and services including trade credit, risk protection, equipment finance, trade events, travel services, fuel cards and more. Last financial year Member purchases exceeded $3.5 billion and Member returns exceeded $80 million.
