National Boards and Ahpra regulate Australia's 920,000 registered health practitioners and 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions. These Boards consist of community members and practitioner members (who are registered in the relevant profession) and set the professional standards practitioners must meet to be registered. The National Boards and Ahpra ensure the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services. Ahpra and National Boards invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to apply to help shape heath regulation and eliminate racism.
