About the Company Davidson is working with a state government client who is seeking an experienced Safety & Training Officer.
About the Role The purpose of this role is to assist the Health, Safety & Training Manager with the continued implementation and review of the Technical Services Health, Safety and Environment Systems (HSEMS) and associated strategies and initiatives.
The role will assist in ensuring the training needs of Technical Services are adequately identified and addressed in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in the implementation and review the Technical Services Health and Safety Strategy as part of the broader departments requirements.
Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety plans, procedures, systems and processes, which support the organisation to effectively deliver business outcomes.
Support the development, coordination and implementation of an auditing schedule to facilitate continual improvement of the Technical Services HSEMS.
Assist in the development of statistical reports on the performance of the HSEMS and associated projects to facilitate management review and continual improvement.
Understand and incorporate project and operational risk assessment processes into management plans and be able to facilitate workshops to characterise relevant risks and controls.
Contribute to the development and delivery of health and safety programs which support management and staff in meeting legislative compliance and strategic objectives.
Assist in the review of the training needs analysis for the Business Unit liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure its ongoing effectiveness.
Liaise with key stakeholders with the aim of influencing and contributing to the strategies to the work health and safety agenda.
Provide support in ensuring the Technical Services HSEMS is developed in compliance to relevant legislation where required.
Other duties as directed and required.
About You Demonstrated experience working in a similar role.
Strong stakeholder management skills, you will be regularly collaborating with key stakeholders.
The ability to solve difficult problems using rigorous logic and seeks guidance and advice if problems remain unresolved Demonstrates strong technical skills and knowledge and can impart knowledge and train others A relevant Cert IV/diploma/degree in WHS, OHS is highly desirable.
A relevant qualification in training and assessment is desirable.
Working knowledge of WHS legislation and its application.
