About the team The City Inspectorate branch is responsible for enforcement of the City's standards and local laws, across building, community, public safety and environmental health compliance to protect safety and amenity for the City's residents and visitors. The Community Compliance business unit is responsible for patrolling and enforcing parking laws in Paid Parking and Timed Parking areas, off-street regulated parking areas, designated disabled parking bays, and respond to and investigate complaints and breaches of parking regulations. Review and manage unpaid parking fines and related disputes. Deliver animal management initiatives to residents including patrols and enforcement, impounding and off leash facilities, pet education, and complaints management, to ensure animals are appropriately cared for and managed in compliance with legislation.

About the role As an Animal Management Inspector you are responsible for the investigation of animal related matters, this relates to complex dog attack investigations and intricate matters relating to animals within the City being kept in accordance with the relevant legislative. You will join a team to deliver effective and efficient animal management regulatory outcomes for the City. You will ensure that compliance obligations are met, attend and represent the City for legal matters at the QLD Magistrate Courts and the Queensland Civil Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).

You have a skillset relating to communicating, experienced in investigating matters of a regulatory nature. You can interpret legislation and confident in gathering information and evidence. Additionally, you can create written reports and correspondence relating to your decisions and recommendations made. People would describe you as someone who has a high level of integrity, comes to work each day with a positive 'can do' attitude.
