As the AML Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and preparing us for the upcoming Tranche Two reforms.Your responsibilities will include:Supporting the development and implementation of robust AML policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices – working with the broader team to conduct risk assessments, establish protocols for client due diligence, and create an internal framework for AML compliance.Implementing and managing a comprehensive AML compliance monitoring program, including taking a leading role in our project to implement the necessary system and process changes required under Tranche Two legislative reforms.Conducting risk assessments and due diligence on new and existing clients, with a focus on the requirements of the Tranche Two reforms.Overseeing the preparation and submission of reports to relevant regulatory bodies (including AUSTRAC), maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all AML-related activities.Serving as the primary point of contact for AML-related inquiries and providing expert guidance to our stakeholders.Conducting ongoing training sessions for our people and developing training materials and resources to promote a culture of compliance at G+T.Staying abreast of AML rules and regulations and helping to ensure our policies and procedures align with the latest legal requirements.Whilst the role is ideally full time, we are open to 4 days per week or a 9-day fortnight for the right individual. We offer our people flexibility to suit their circumstances which sees most of our people in the office at least 3 days of their working week.About youTo succeed in this role, you will be a proactive and driven collaborator with a strong background in AML compliance. Specifically, you will bring:A Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in AML, such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), are highly desirable.A minimum of 5 years of experience in AML compliance, preferably within a law firm or financial institution.In-depth understanding of AML regulations, including the Tranche Two reforms.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and mitigate compliance risks effectively.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Meticulous attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all compliance matters.What we will offer youGilbert + Tobin will offer you a friendly, flexible and professional working environment.
