MPI has partnered with a leading gold mining company committed to sustainable and responsible mining practices. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Alternate Underground Mine Manager to join the team.
The Alternate Underground Mine Manager will support the Underground Mine Manager in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of their underground gold mine.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence.
The role : Assist the Underground Mine Manager in daily operations, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and company policies Oversee and coordinate underground mining activities to achieve production targets Implement and monitor mining plans, schedules, and budgets Manage and lead a team of mining professionals, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and mining regulations Collaborate with other departments to optimize resource use and improve overall mine performance Identify and address any operational issues promptly to minimize downtime Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for mine staff. The requirements : Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field A minimum of 7 years of experience in underground mining, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role Proven track record in managing underground mining operations, preferably in gold Comprehensive knowledge of mining regulations and safety standards in Australia Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
