Position Overview: We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Art Therapist with expertise in both art in therapy and art as therapy approaches, including proficiency in music and drama therapy. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the therapeutic benefits of creative expression and a commitment to supporting the holistic development of neurodiverse children.
Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group art therapy sessions to neurodiverse children, incorporating music and drama therapy techniques as appropriate. Develop and implement personalized therapy plans based on the unique strengths, needs, and goals of each child. Facilitate creative activities and experiences that promote emotional expression, communication, and social skills development. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to therapy. Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports. Requirements: Art Therapy Qualification, CECAT Diploma level highly regarded Registration or eligibility for registration with relevant professional bodies. Minimum of 2 years' experience working as an Art Therapist Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds. Flexible, creative, and adaptable approach to therapy, with a willingness to integrate new ideas and techniques. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
