The Department of Health is seeking a highly self-motivated Allied Health Professional (Head to Health Phone Service) to join the Mental Health Services team located in Southern Tasmania.
The Role: Provide advice and information to callers of the Head to Health Phone Service, including consumers, carers and health professionals, about mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) services and supports.Complete mental health assessments over the phone using the Initial Assessment and Referral Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) and refer individuals to appropriate services according to their identified level of care.Provide leadership, secondary consultation, case review and assistance to other clinical and non-clinical team members.You will need: A minimum of two years post-graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to mental health services.Ability to build rapport to manage sensitive and difficult situations in an empathetic manner.Demonstrated capability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships to improve outcomes for clients, carers, and internal and external stakeholders.Details of appointment: Multiple fixed term full time and part time, day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.

Salary: $110,425 - $121,907 per annum.

Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association.Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
