We are seeking an experienced Agronomist to join our regional Tasmanian team, in a role where you can make a significant impact on the growth and success of our independent growers. Reporting to the Regional Manager, this high-impact role will give you the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in guiding growers towards achieving optimal production results. Some of your key duties will extend to: Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the local team to ensure high performance and exceptional service delivery to our growers. Utilising your in-depth knowledge of agronomic principles to assist growers in optimizing crop production, resolving challenges, and implementing cutting-edge farming techniques extending to nutrition, pest & disease, and plant health programs. Staying up to date with the latest advancements in agricultural technologies, market trends, and scientific research, and effectively communicating these insights to the team and growers. Conducting regular field visits, interacting directly with growers to understand their unique needs, and providing tailored recommendations based on their specific circumstances.Disseminating Food Quality standards, guidelines and protocols and assist growers in the development of documentation and protocols.Assisting in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across customer requirements, legal and other compliance initiativeSKILLS & EXPERIENCETo be considered you will need to be able to demonstrate the following in your application:Tertiary qualifications in Agronomy or Plant Science preferred but not essentialPrevious agricultural experience preferably soft fruit productionProficiency in the use of Excel – basic levelStrong verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work under limited supervisionUnrestricted drivers' licence and full Australian working rightsABOUT USDriscoll's Australia is an exciting joint venture company owned by Costa Group - Australia's leading integrated growing and marketer of premium quality fresh produce and Driscoll's (USA) – the world's market leader in berries.
