The Strategy & Business Performance Team is responsible for developing and championing a forward-thinking strategy that is clearly understood and embraced throughout the organisation. They also play a lead role in strategy execution by supporting the Customer Markets (CM) Business Units in setting their direction, making decisions, and ensuring accountability to drive success and adapt to change.
As the Strategic Business Manager, you will be responsible for enabling smooth business operations, reporting and communicating between the CM Leadership Team, the Executive Team, Board Members, Investors, and other key stakeholders. You will play a critical central role across CM, engaging and holding effective relationships with key stakeholders, and being organised and structured while leading key processes with appropriate buy-in and engagement from the business, as well as streamlining interactions and ensuring effective messaging with the broader AGL communications team.
What you'll be doing: Managing and coordinating the CM annual strategic business plan, working with the team to define key issues and priorities in collaboration with the Chief Customer Office, which includes coordinating key annual processes, Board Strategy Day, Results, Investor Updates, etc. Owning the CM process for delivering Board and Board Committee papers, ensuring compliance with Co-Sec guidelines, supporting the Head of S&BP to collaborate with the CCO, CMLT, and the Executive Team to produce effective Board papers and maintaining alignment with prior discussions, including coordination and strategic challenge. Overseeing the process ensuring effective half-year/end of year CM results analysis & insights, including financial analysis and presentation packs to support effective communication to investors and supporting the development of materials for Investor Day ensuring alignment with strategic messaging. Coordinating CM Executive Team agenda items and supporting development of performance packs and associated papers for the C-suite, ensuring alignment with governance processes (e.g. QBR) and materials as well as developing and/or reporting on emergent issues and/or critical matters involving CM Executive Team. Supporting the planning and coordination of key CM Leadership Team forums (monthly meetings, strategy sessions, cross-functional steering committee(s), etc.). What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, management, or a related field, and experience in strategic governance, business performance management, or a related role, preferably within the energy sector. Demonstrated ability driving strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy and effective execution initiatives, and proficiency in project management and planning with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deadlines. Strong experience in coordinating and managing the development of investor relations materials, including financial analysis, FAQs, and executive speeches, as well as facilitating business reviews and ensuring accountability and alignment among senior stakeholders. Successful track record in leading and developing high-performing teams in an agile, dynamic, and fast-paced environment, and a 'can do' attitude to successfully balance recurring requirements with emerging leadership priorities. Proven experience in developing and delivering high-quality board-level presentations, financial reports, and investor communications, and ability to interpret performance data, identify risks, and provide strategic insights to drive business outcomes.
