We are rapidly growing our Melbourne Design Centre and are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Aerodynamics Engineers , to join the team in on site in Port Melbourne.
Aerodynamics Engineers are essential to the development, safety and success of our products and solutions. Each day, they go above and beyond to meet our customers' overall mission requirements—from initial vehicle concept definition through design, test, validation and in-service support. Position Responsibilities: Contributes to the design and analysis of aerodynamic flight vehicles to ensure that requirements are met; Builds mathematical models, develops, integrates and documents loads and dynamics requirements to establish the system design; Supports the development of new and improving existing technologies, tools and processes to enhance technology readiness, improve vehicle performance and reduce cycle time and cost; Uses analytical tools and models to support product design and verifies that the flight vehicle integrates and demonstrates compliance to internal and external specifications and requirements; Performs predictive analysis for aeroelastic stability, flutter, buffet, static and dynamic forces that act on a vehicle; Conducts, coordinates and/or develops test requirements to meet test objectives using established processes Assesses the impact of proposed regulations to determine the effect on cost, performance, producibility, maintainability and safety; Supports certification and qualification processes of the aerodynamic/ aero thermal characteristics of flight vehicles. Assists in training others. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate of Engineering degree from an accredited course of study, in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or similar; Experience with modelling and simulation software (e.g. CATIA, MATLAB and Simulink); Proficiency with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools such as CFD++, CFL3D/TLNS3D, TRANAIR, Overflow or Fluent; Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and manufacturing processes; Technical writing skills for creating detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, reports, and manuals; Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues; Strong and influential written and verbal English communication skills for effective communication with stakeholders across the business domestically and internationally; Excellent cross-functional teaming and relationship building. Classification Level: This is an Enterprise Agreement position classified as Engineer / Scientist E2B, E2C, E3A, E3B. We are looking for varying degrees of experience so levels will be commensurate with skills and experience. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
