The Advisor role is to facilitate the administrative coordination and scheduling of all people, processes and systems that will ensure the objectives of the Boards proceedings are maintained to a high standard, pursuant to statutory obligations.
The essential requirements for this role are: • Sound knowledge, or the capacity to acquire a sound knowledge, of current strategic issues pertaining to the direction of the Board and QCS within a complex criminal justice sector environment;
• Ability to apply and interpret legislation and work confidently under multiple delegations of authority and policy and procedural frameworks relating to the operation and functions of the Board and QCS;
• Demonstrated technical skills in the use of offender management tools and the ability to support the administration of discrete Board teams by applying and maintaining a high standard of practice;
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, written and oral, including demonstrated ability to participate in and support liaison, consultation and negotiation with diverse stakeholder groups both internally and with external agencies;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as a member of a high performance team supporting the Senior Advisor with all activities that achieve the efficient operations and administration of the Board;
• Shows initiative and applies planning, analytical and conceptual skills in order to identify problems and progress individual and team achievements to the Senior Advisor;
• Demonstrated commitment to own wellbeing, building resilience in the workplace and able to develop effective strategies dealing with emotionally charged situations or at times difficult and controversial issues; and
• Demonstrated values to act with integrity, fairness and professionalism and encourages others to do so through role modelling a commitment to applying ethical decision making in the workplace.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications for this position, tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as criminal justice would be highly desirable.
It is a requirement of this position to participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster to provide administrative duties on emerging and urgent Parole Board Queensland matters.

Referees should have a thorough knowledge of your capabilities, work performance and conduct within the previous two years, and it is preferable to include your current/immediate/past supervisor. By providing the names and contact details of your referee/s you consent for these people to be contacted by the selection panel. If you do not wish for a referee to be contacted, please indicate this on your resume and contact the selection panel chair to discuss.
