Administration/Database Manager Permanent Opportunity Hours/Type: Part time, 20 hours per fortnight (flexible working arrangements available) Classification: HS2 Admin Officer Department/Unit: Stroke/Alfred Brain Program Alfred Health delivers a comprehensive stroke service with acute care delivered on The Alfred Hospital site and specialist rehabilitation and community services based at the nearby Caulfield Hospital site.
As well as directly admitting over 500 acute stroke patients a year, The Alfred provides tertiary stroke services for endovascular and neurosurgical care for surrounding hospitals.
There is a 24/7 thrombolysis and endovascular clot retrieval service.
The department runs dedicated stroke outpatient clinics at both Alfred and Sandringham sites.
THE ROLE The department of stroke medicine is looking for dedicated candidate to assist with clinical governance duties including data collection and reporting to the Australian Stroke Care Registry (AuSCR).
The position holder will be expected to work 10 hours a week, and hours can be flexible throughout the week.
The administrator will work closely with the consultant clinical team, Stroke Coordinator, stroke fellow and the Clinical Service Director.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accurate and efficient data collection using the electronic medical record (Cerner Power Chart) Timely and accurate maintenance of local service registries and AuSCR (Australian Stroke Care Registry) data Preparing regular performance reports for the purposes of local service improvement and clinical governance Data analysis and audits supporting local stroke audit initiatives across the stroke pathway and in response to specific data queries Preparation of 'exception' reports for outlying data and data queries Development of best practices in performance and operational database efficiency QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Essential Previous experience of managing datasets/spreadsheets Computer literacy, particularly in Excel Presentation and reporting skills Strong and proven time management skills Highly developed organisational skills Appreciation of information governance and confidentiality Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Self-directed and proactive Understanding of clinical audit Desirable Previous experience using Cerner Power Chart Previous experience of working in healthcare Knowledge of basic medical statistics Appropriate tertiary education Knowledge of medical terminology and stroke management pathways BENEFITS Staff benefits include Access to Salary Packaging and Novated Leasing Health and Wellbeing initiatives in addition to discounted health insurance Discounted on-site car parking On-site gymnasium Applications close : Monday , 4 November 2024 All enquiries to Professor Geoffrey Cloud, Director of Stroke Services via 9076 2552 Alfred Health is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce that reflects the community we serve.
