ACTIVITIES ATTENDANT - qualia qualia is an oasis of style, combining award-winning luxury with intuitive friendly service. Set on Hamilton Island's northern-most tip, qualia is the perfect place from which to explore the beautiful Australian icons of the region, including Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef.
The Beach Activities team based at qualia's private Pebble Beach offers a range of activities for our guests to take to the water on a catamaran, stand-up paddle board, pedal board, or sea kayak, or perhaps on a guided catamaran sail. A personalised beach drop-off is offered, and the beach activities team will use their local knowledge to suggest beaches to visit and ferry our guests to and from their preferred destination.
Your Role Your day will be spent at qualia's private beach assisting our guests in enjoying beach and water activities. Whether it is sailing one of our hobie cats, snorkelling, kayaking, or cruising the clear blue waters on a stand-up paddle board, you will be there to assist, coach, and ensure the safety of our guests.
You will achieve this by: Providing impeccable service to meet the expectations of our guests.Having a strong and thorough knowledge of all beach activities and being proficient in them to teach our guests.Ensuring all equipment is stored, maintained, and checked to maximise guest and instructor safety.Being constantly alert to tide and weather changes ensuring the safety of guests and equipment.Assisting guests with a range of sporting equipment including kayaks, snorkels, and SUPs.Conducting a guided tour of Whitsunday Peak, the highest peak in the Whitsundays.Performing guided sailing on our fleet of Hobie catamarans.About You You are a true professional and strive to excel in your career. You understand the prestige of being a member of the qualia team and believe you have the skill, talent, and attitude to be the best of the best. You will love the water, be fit and healthy, and be a skilled sailor, kayaker, swimmer, and paddle boarder.
You will also have: Impeccable grooming and presentation.Excellent time management skills & ability to adapt & personalise activities.Coxswain Grade 3 or above qualification (essential).Open/unrestricted driver license (essential).Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR (essential).QLD or Nationally accredited RSA (essential).Ability to remain calm under pressure and great problem-solving skills.Use initiative and have a proactive and positive attitude to assist team members to ensure operations run smoothly.Dedicated to stay a minimum of 12 months & passionate about progressing in career.Previous experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.About Us Part of the Whitsundays and in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, Hamilton Island is one of Australia's most spectacular and sought-after holiday destinations.
