Role is based from either Canberra or Sydney with regular travel required.
This is a 6 month contract role.
AEMO's Government Engagement team is part of AEMO's Government & Stakeholder Division.
As a member of AEMO's Government Engagement team, the role will work with colleagues within the team and across AEMO to facilitate AEMO's extensive engagement with government across the organisation.
Role and Responsibilities Support execution of government engagement strategic objectives Establish and build on relationships of trust and credibility with governments. Support preparation, organisation and review of papers, briefings, policies, and reports. Monitor and report on emerging government issues; manage government-related events, issues, and briefings; and be the point of contact for government Experience and Knowledge Demonstrated experience in a position of similar remit undertaking government relations within Australia in a complex, issues-rich environment. Experience and knowledge of Australia's electricity and gas sectors. Detailed understanding of the machinery of government, including direct experience liaising at senior Departmental and Ministerial office level, with preference for Federal experience Strong networks and reputation established with governments, with preference for Federal government. Education Tertiary qualifications in business, policy, commerce, economics, law or related discipline or significant experience of parity AEMO is an equal opportunity employer.
