Purpose As the Business Development Manager , you will be responsible for providing strategic sales support to General Managers across a range of Accor Apartments & Realty properties in Melbourne . You will develop new business opportunities through business development practices, relationships and proactive sales initiatives. The position will identify revenue opportunities and undertake direct sales activity to convert business.
This role is based in Melbourne and offers a hybrid working style, with the opportunity to work between properties, the city office, and occasionally from home. Travel between properties will be required, and specific working arrangements can be discussed during the interview process.
Primary Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities across Melbourne, driving revenue growth for Accor Apartments & Realty properties. Proactively generate leads, build local account footprints, and liaise with account management teams to maximise sales outcomes. Research and target niche revenue-generating markets while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of competitor products and industry trends. Establish a strong presence in the region by collaborating with tourism bodies and engaging with key accounts. Monitor and address regional performance, including distressed properties, by conducting sales calls and driving business mix across markets. Provide regular updates to the Regional Director of Sales, including feedback, planned activities, and pipeline business opportunities. Skills and Experience To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record of performance, as well as:
At least 3 years' experience in a proactive sales role, with a strong conversion track record and knowledge of the hospitality, hotel, or travel industry. Ability to plan mid to long term, understand commercial implications, and make sound business decisions. Skilled in navigating complex stakeholder environments and building relationships through confident communication and negotiation. Strong understanding of emerging trends within the hospitality sector, with a passion for hotel operations and driving business growth.
