Work Type: Permanent Full Time  Location: Emerald, Capella or Springsure Department: Communities  Remuneration :  Stream A, Level 3: $75,333.96 - $80,156.55 + superannuation Central Highlands Regional Council has a rare and exciting opportunity for a passionate Youth Development Officer to join the team. Working in alignment with Council's 5 year youth strategy, you will advocate for youth within the region and create opportunities and events to empower them. You will also work collaboratively with various community groups to offer services and support to youth. In this busy role, you will support the organisation by: Engaging with youth, school and community groups and advocating on behalf of young people. Planning, promoting and delivering various youth events across the region. Undertaking a range of administrative tasks including program development, procurement, risk assessments, project plans and reporting. Partnering with various stakeholders and representing council at various activities, forums and programs.  Providing information, resources and where appropriate referral, to young people and their families to enable them to make informed decisions and make full use of resources and services available within the community.    To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and foster relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Experience organising, promoting and delivery events, functions, programs or meetings. Queensland Working with Children Blue Card. Minimum of Queensland C class provisional driver's licence.
