$46p/h + superannuation (Casual) About the role: We are currently seeking casual Youth Workers (Outreach Support Workers) to join our team in Emerald.
Our Outreach Support Workers will provide respite to carers by taking planned outings with young people (these shifts are likely to take place in the afternoon or on the weekend).
As part of the Residential Care team, shifts in our Residential Care homes are also part of this role.
What will a typical day look like?
Provide opportunities for children and young people to develop and learn life skills appropriate to their age and ability.
Support young people in maintaining connections with family, culture, country, and community.
Support young people to develop safety, health, and wellbeing measures.
Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
Support young people in accessing appointments (transport).
Engage therapeutically with young people.
Mandatory Requirements: Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
Alternative qualifications or working towards: Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or Youth Work Diploma in Behavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing or Mental Health All other training is available through AnglicareCQ.

A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.
