We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as the Youth Engagement Coordinator.
The role involves coordinating a small team of Youth Engagement Officers and teams of volunteers to address the social and emotional needs of young people and develop youth leaders in the community and in schools through different initiatives, teamwork, and leadership development programs.
ABOUT THE ROLEWe have an opportunity for a full-time Youth Engagement Coordinator in our Parramatta Team, working flexible hours with part-time options considered.
The role will involve the following activities:
Coordinate a small team of Youth Engagement Officers and a team of volunteer leaders to make an impact in the community.Coordinate the development and implementation of action plans in collaboration with the young people and mentors involved.Coordinate leadership development programs and training sessions.Utilize community organizing skills to build and maintain relationships with other like-minded organisations in the community.Represent and enhance YCW's relationships with various stakeholders, identifying opportunities for collaboration and partnerships for action.Prepare submissions for funding and reports to funding bodies and other agencies.On a day-to-day basis, you will be supported by the YCW's National Community Organiser and participate in regular mentoring sessions with a local mentor.
Training and learning opportunities (including national and international exchanges) are also included as we prioritise the ongoing development of our staff as role models for young people.
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
You are passionate about making a difference on social justice issues affecting young people today and creating safe spaces where young people can belong and thrive.You hold tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community, Youth or a related area.
Associate Degree, Advance Diploma or Diploma level qualifications will be accepted.Experience coordinating projects with young people with minimal supervision.You are a confident leader and team player with experience managing and motivating teams of workers and volunteers to reach their goals.You have availability to work some evenings and/or weekends as part of flexible work schedules.You are a good planner and a passionate communicator ready to influence young people in person and online.You are an innovative and flexible person committed to working in an inclusive faith-based organisation.Finally, you have a Driver's Licence and a Working with Children Check clearance.Why work with us?
