Our services are available and open to all with a particular focus on families, young people, and children.CatholicCare is calling for a suitably qualified and experienced individual who is committed to engaging and supporting young people in the 16-24 year age group to transition to independence and sustain good housing outcomes whilst participating in education and training.Accommodation is provided through the Youth2Readiness cluster style, with 24/7 onsite support, and shared homes for young people with lower support needs. The Youth Development Coach is responsible for providing day-to-day operational leadership to the Y2I Homes team (within region of responsibility) and participation in 'on call' roster across the state. Program operations occur in accordance with Housing Tasmania's Policy framework, grant deed, and head lease. Providing safe and affordable accommodation with the goal of implementing an advantage thinking capabilities approach and developing 'The Deal' through negotiation with the Young People, to build their capabilities as they transition into secure sustainable housing. Providing a range of person-centered responses for young people who are experiencing homelessness, for the duration of need, ensures a trauma-informed environment is nurtured. Identifying, building, and formalising collaborative approaches to engage with the local community and allied health services.It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be able to:Selection CriteriaDemonstrated experience in providing support to Young People 16-24 including an understanding of the issues facing young people at risk and an understanding of the causes and impacts of Homelessness.Demonstrated capacity to deliver services utilising an advantage thinking approach that focuses on the capabilities, strengths, and aspirations of those accessing the service.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills including active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
