We are an Award-Winning Council that is regarded as a Leader in the Sector including the most innovative company for 2021 and most progressive Council in 2022.The role:As a Youth Activities Officer, you will assist with the implementation and supervision of our after school drop-in program at Belmore Youth Resource Centre which runs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 3-5pm for young people 12-18 years, school holiday activities, and our Twilight Sports program on Friday/Saturday nights as required.Duties will include but not be limited to:Ensure young people are engaged and supervised through a range of after school and school holiday activities at Belmore Youth Resource Centre, including the Twilight Sports program.Ensure young people and/or their families can access appropriate services through the provision of information, support, and referrals.Recommendations from Youth Action Plan 2020-2024 are understood and actioned.Reporting Requirements are completed including data collection and reports in accordance with DCJ Funding Agreement, and mandatory reporter guidelines.You will have:Minimum TAFE Certificate IV in Community Services (Youth Work and/or Community Services Work) or equivalent minimum 12 months of related experience.Experience in working with community groups and providing support and advice to service providers and residents preferably in relation to young people.Experience in conducting youth-related social and recreational programs.Knowledge of government legislation and funding programs relating to young people, including Child Protection.Skills in the use of a range of computer applications including Word, Excel, Internet and email.Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).The salary range for this opportunity commences at $38.31 per hour + 25% casual loading (Grade D, Step 1) + 11.5% super.
