We are looking for a highly experienced Senior GIS Consultant to join our innovative Melbourne offices and be an integral part of our National GIS team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a GIS expert to work on a host of major projects not only in Queensland, but globally and genuinely help positively impact the lives of the communities now and for generations to come! Plus, you will also have the chance to work with some of the brightest subject matter experts in the world! As a Senior GIS Consultant, you will help lead and mentor the team and support the continued development of geospatial solutions across the WSP Australian business.
You will also be working with a range of government and commercial clients to enhance the operation and maintenance of many critical infrastructure systems that keep our world moving.
A typical day for a GIS Consultant would look like (but not be limited to): Manage and monitor the technical quality of work performed by the team.
Provide technical input to a diverse range of GIS projects, ensuring the work complies with qualities systems and client requirements.
Undertake business development activities with others to grow the GIS Team business.
Design and delivery of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
Coach/mentor junior GIS staff including business development.
What we'll love about you Tertiary qualifications in GIS/Geospatial.
Post Graduate qualifications is desirable.
Solid and proven experience within GIS after tertiary education.
Competent and experienced in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of projects.
Experience in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple varying size projects.
Proven ability to prepare technical reports and GIS related outputs eg.
web/desktop mapping, analysis, data management, scripts as well as review medium size project reports.
Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills.
Contribution to proposals and pursuits and seeking new business opportunities.
Contribution to building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organisation.
Highly experienced using a range of GIS industry software.
Ability to follow company management systems and procedures.
