We operate the only purpose-built facility for our market in WA and undertake a variety of complex repairs and maintenance in the road transport and heavy fabrication sector. Servicing our market, we are known for our responsiveness and being a 'one stop shop' for all servicing, maintenance, repairs, and spare parts. We are seeking to appoint an experienced Workshop Manager to lead and support our workshop team during the next phase of growth.ABOUT THE ROLEReporting into the General Manager, your role will be to take ownership of all aspects of the workshop operation, supporting your team by providing clear leadership in all aspects of the repairs and fabrication business. You will pivot between daily operational matters and longer-term strategic goals, driving continuous improvement (LEAN) activities while meeting both service and budget metrics. Key functions are as follows:Managing both the revenue and cost elements of the workshop and fabrication operationsUndertake efficient operational scheduling, planning & delegating so delivery dates are metComplete labour plan provided on a weekly basis to effectively utilise team membersManaging both the revenue and cost, including labour, tooling and O.T.Ensuring quality standards are continually met and are built upon/improvedEngaging with the team by conducting daily morning toolbox meetings to plan the dayMonitor all OH&S controls to ensure the safety of the site team and all visitors to the siteHiring, training, and managing the performance of all staff & supervisorsLiving the CORE Values of the business and ensuring others are also alignedSKILLS & EXPERIENCETo be considered for this role, you will bring:Sound experience as a Workshop / Fabrication Manager, having worked in a Road Transport / Fleet environmentProven experience in supervising & leading a successful operational team, while delivering improvements in efficiency and productivityExtensive knowledge of workshop operations and production management from an engineering, fabrication and / or technical service businessIdeally Trade Qualified, as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, but any relevant trade would be well regarded (not essential, but industry experience is)Excellent organisational and IT skills, with sound written & verbal communications and a strong attention to detail
