We have a permanent position available at our Ulverstone premises for a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Manager who is ready to take on a challenging role in a dynamic environment.
About The Role: Reporting to senior management, you will be a crucial part of the leadership team, responsible for managing a busy workshop to ensure all projects, both onsite and offsite, are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership to drive productivity and performance in the workshop, ensuring all workshop staff meet their responsibilities and are held accountable.Oversee day-to-day management of the workshop, including people management, work allocation, scheduling, timesheet approval, material tracking, and job tracking.Oversee service work in the Tasmanian workshop and on site around Australia and New Zealand with the Workshop & Service Coordinator.Ensure all projects are delivered efficiently and safely, maintaining adherence to quality standards.Manage and develop client relationships, promptly addressing queries and working to grow existing partnerships.Continuously review and implement improvements in workshop practices and procedures.Ensure the safe operation of the workshop, adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.Guide, mentor, and motivate the workshop team, fostering a culture of excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Assist with quoting and estimating for servicing, repairs, and workshop jobs.Manage final documentation and reporting related to workshop processes.About You: We seek a dynamic individual with proven experience managing a fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering workshop. Strong management and leadership skills are essential, particularly in driving a team, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Key Attributes: Demonstrated experience in workshop management, with a track record of delivering results under pressure.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage staff, set expectations, and drive performance.Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities and unexpected challenges in a dynamic workshop environment.A passion for continuous improvement and implementing efficiencies.High level of computer literacy, particularly in planning, scheduling, and job tracking software primarily using MYOB Advanced, Outlook, Excel and Word.Experience in the agricultural sector and/or manufacturing is highly desirable.Ability to build strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.Current manual motor vehicle and forklift licences are required.Why Join Us?
