Management (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Penns Cartage Contractors is a family owned heavy haulage company operating since 1969.Based in Kalgoorlie WA, we are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join our small tight-knit, down-to-earth team where camaraderie fuels success.Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective daily management of the Workshop and ensuring our equipment is maintained to a high standard.You will facilitate scheduled servicing, oversee general maintenance and repairs to our fleet of Trucks, Trailers, Tankers, Cranes and LV's, along with stocktaking, ordering and maintaining required levels of stock.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee workshop activities and manage a team of technicians and tradespeople including apprenticesCoordinate scheduled services, repairs and job tasks with your teamEnsure all maintenance and repairs are being carried out in a timely manner and to industry standardsProvide leadership and foster a positive work environment for your teamMaintain a safe working environment and report on hazards that affect the health and safety of yourself and othersDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers The successful candidate will possess:Relevant trade qualifcation – Engineering Tradesperson, Diesel Mechanic, Mobile Plant Technology (or similar)Proven experience as a Workshop Manager in the mining or heavy equipment industry.Valid Heavy Vehicle drivers licence (HR at minimum, MC preferred but not essential)Current Police ClearanceEffective time management and attention to detail with a strong planning and cost control focusAbility to work unsupervised and autonomously A desire to work with self-motivationSound computer skills and ability to learn new systems effectivelyA willingness to undertake and pass satisfactory pre-employment medical and pass regular Drug & Alcohol screeningsWe strive to maintain a strong safety culture and as such you need to be committed to operating in a safe manner whilst adhering to company and client policies/procedures at all times.We provide an equal employment opportunity for all, and we see the benefit and value in diversity.
