Role Overview: Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our Burton SA Workshop.
The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient and high-quality production or repair activities while maintaining a safe, productive, and compliant working environment.
This role is permanent full-time, reporting to the General Manager Operation.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage workshop operations in alignment with company policies and vision, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.Oversee receiving, daily production activities, quality, WHSE, cost performance, and facility maintenance requirements to ensure seamless functioning.Design and implement effective layout strategies to maximize space utilization and operational flow.Develop, coordinate, and enforce best practices, policies, and procedures for all workshop activities.Ensure strict adherence to warehousing, handling, and shipping regulations and legislation.Maintain high standards of workplace health, safety, hygiene, and security, in line with industry and legal standards.Manage inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation with data storage systems.Develop and manage the workshop's budget, ensuring financial objectives are met.
Monitor expenses and optimize resource allocation to control costs.
Generate reports on financial and operational performance for senior management.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and transport companies, ensuring smooth communication and service delivery.Plan work schedules, delegate tasks, evaluate performance, and provide constructive feedback.Perform additional tasks as required by management.Specialist Knowledge, Competencies, and Skills: Strong understanding of shipbuilding and sustainment processes.Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative, safe, and high-performance culture.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.Commitment to exceptional quality standards in every aspect of work.Ability to address challenges quickly and efficiently with sound decision-making.A collaborative approach to sharing knowledge and expertise with others.Demonstrates responsibility for actions and holds others accountable.Strong ethical standards; honest, trustworthy, and respectful in all interactions.Promotes and supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role, with a track record of successful operations leadership.In-depth knowledge of workshop management procedures and best practices.Demonstrated ability to identify, implement, and lead process improvement initiatives.Strong understanding of workshop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics.Proven leadership abilities, including staff management, decision-making, and conflict resolution.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.Clearances:
