Workshop Leading Hand

Churchill Services of Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Leading Hand for its rapidly growing heavy vehicle servicing and repairs mechanical division in Kilburn. This position will report to the division Workshop Manager.Competitive salary, super, and company vehicle will be offered to the suitable candidate.Duties:Lead a team of workshop technicians to meet, deliver, and exceed service expectations.Ensure on-time delivery of servicing and repairs to clients.Provide advice and guidance to apprentices, technicians, and customers as required.Quality control all work completed in the workshop.Prompt completion of paperwork for service and repair work.Be responsible for the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used most effectively.Assist in scheduling and managing planned and corrective fleet maintenance.Work with the Workshop Manager and WHS Officer to ensure a culture of safety in the workplace.Provide leadership and direction to employees.Ensure compliance with safety obligations, company policies, procedures, customer requirements, and legislative obligations.Requirements:Be able to demonstrate prior leadership responsibilities.Minimum 10 years heavy mechanical servicing and repairs experience.This is a hands-on role working with a supportive and professional team. The job will be a mix of leadership and employee management, with some servicing and repair work undertaken to ensure client jobs are completed on time.The successful candidate will need prior experience in a leadership role with a positive work ethic.There will be a requirement for some overtime, including field work and assistance with out-of-hours breakdowns.Only those considered for interviews will be contacted directly.
