Full time Red Dust Holdings (RDH) is a privately owned civil construction, heavy haulage and mining services operation (established in 2010) offering a range of civil and earthmoving solutions to an extensive client base throughout Regional Western Australia. Our team is passionate about excellence, and we are looking for a dynamic Workshop / Asset Manager to join us in driving our operations forward.Position OverviewReporting to the General Manager; Workshop & Asset Manager will be the line manager to RDH Workshop Supervisor and Yard Supervisor. Providing overarching management of RDH's fleet of trucks & mobile plant and the resources required to maintain the RDH fleet of trucks & mobile plant (approx. 300+ assets in the business) You will oversee the daily operations, ensuring that our machinery, tools, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. You will lead a skilled team and collaborate closely with project managers and site supervisors to support our ongoing and upcoming projects. This role is 90% administrative, competent computer skills are required with the ability to learn new systems as required.Based out of our Geraldton Workshop, you will be home every night. No away work. The successful applicant will facilitate scheduled servicing, oversee general maintenance and repairs to our fleet of Heavy Earthmoving Machinery, Road Trains, Trucks, Trailers and LV's. By effectively managing workshop operations and ensuring that work is carried out safely and to the required standards, you play a crucial role in the overall success of RDH's civil construction projects.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct all business activities in line with RDH Core Values of 'Honesty, Respect and Integrity.Adhere to, and promote within the business; RDH values, policies & procedures through all aspects of the business. Maintain a safe working environment and report on hazardous conditions that affect the health and safety of yourself and others. Conduct business in a manner which ensures a high-quality product can be delivered compliant to the relevant standards, plans and agreed design. Oversee Workshop activities and manage a team of technicians and tradespeople. Including Workshop based, Subcontractors, Field Service and Apprentices. Oversee the Stores Department and support the team which currently has a Procurement Officer, Storeman and Stores Administrator. Provide leadership, motivating your team for productivity and morale. Providing guidance, support and feedback to your team members, fostering a positive working environment and promoting teamwork.Manage all plant and equipment utilisation, running costs per hour and ensuring maintenance and repairs are being conducted, according to industry standards and on timeQuality Control: Ensuring that the work carried out in the workshop meets quality standards is crucial. You would implement and enforce QC measures to guarantee that assets produced in the workshop meet specifications and comply with relevant regulations. Work with HSE department in implementing workshop procedures and safety protocols.Analyse operational processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and productivity. Including Problem solving. Documentation and Reporting: Keeping accurate records of workshop activities, including production reports, inventory levels, and safety documentation, is essential. You'd be responsible for generating reports and providing regular updates to higher management. Work in a safe manner in which does not impact negatively on the health and safety of themselves and other workers. Ensure all business activities conducted do not impact negatively on the environment and all environmental incidents and hazards are reported immediately. Maintain business confidentiality in regard to RDH commercial processes and any other matters that impact the business commercially. Report on all incidents and hazards within a reasonable time frame and using the correct channels of reporting. Ensure all work activities are aligned with RDH processes and where applicable processes that are a requirement of the client and contractual agreements. Use or operate equipment, machinery and vehicles in a manner that does not cause damage or unnecessary wear and tear. Provide feedback where necessary to assist in the improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS) and internal processes of RDH. Wear and maintain all PPE provided by Red Dust Holdings where the company, client or risk assessment specifies. Asset ManagementEvaluate the performance of existing assets including the analysation of operation, reliability, risk, and failure trends. Collating data that identifies asset needs and what value the assets add to the business. Work closely with the Finance team in matters relating to asset management accounting, including valuation, depreciation, renewal, and maintenance. Manage the operations and maintenance of each asset, maximising operational availability through reliability while looking for opportunities to lower maintenance spend.With a focus on cost and schedule, deliver planned and preventative maintenance of assetsLeverage best practice industry asset management techniques and processes. Work alongside and/or support delivery of projects from other RDH teams, as applicableFostering innovation and collaborating closely with Project Management and Site Management Teams. Overseeing the annual capital R&M program within budget constraints. The successful applicant will possessRelevant Trade Certificate/s - Engineering Tradesperson; (Automotive) Heavy Vehicle Road Transport, Mobile Plant Technology (or similar)Experience as a Workshop supervisor or similar. Ability to be hands-on, proactive and lead effectively in a team environmentEffective time management and attention to detail with a strong planning and cost control focusSound communication skillsAbility to work under pressure with a view to meeting deadlinesGood understanding of OHS in a busy mechanical workshop Previous experience working on heavy trucks and construction equipmentHeavy Vehicle driver's license (HR at minimum, MC preferred not essential)Sound computer skills and ability to learn new systems effectively Ability to complete satisfactory pre employment medical and drug and alcohol screenWhy Join Red Dust HoldingsCompetitive rates of pay and higher than average wagesPermanent sustainable full time contract - with all leave entitlementsWeekly payroll + superannuation paid on every single hour workedProgressive company who genuinely values their EmployeesFantastic career development and ongoing training opportunitiesDirect contact to Higher Management for any queries resulting in quicker than average problem solvingA fast paced but inclusive, involved, and supportive work environmentSimple and strong supporting office systemsA management team who have extensive industry experience to better understand the daily issues and work through mitigation of those in a supportive and productive mannerGenuine recognition within the company as a member of the team and not a number.Access to EAP services and supportWe pride ourselves on our core values of Honesty, Respect and Integrity and these underpin all our business decisions. We genuinely value our Employees and understand our team is our biggest asset therefore we offer excellent conditions and opportunities for the right people. We strive for quality work and appreciate our Employees who deliver it!
