Embarking on a period of transformation, the organisation is in the process of building and maturing its People team to align with capability objectives, ensuring that this growth region has efficient, future proof and affordable resources at their disposal.
Role Overview: Reporting to the Manager of Workplace Relations & Governance, you'll play a central role in the newly established People Services team—a dynamic function dedicated to building a strong foundation of tools and processes for staff across the organisation.
In this fixed-term role, you'll manage end-to-end employee relations (ER) cases and partner with managers to navigate complex performance matters and support employee development, helping to build a fair, engaged, and high-performing workplace.
This position has opened up to cover for a consultant on maternity leave for the next 6 months.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a trusted expert on all things ER—handling performance management, terminations, promotions, and a variety of generalist HR matters.
Make sense of employment law, enterprise agreements, and organisational policies, providing managers and employees with clarity and direction.
Partner with the Wellbeing team to support return-to-work initiatives and other employee wellness programs.
Be the go-to for inquiries on flexible work arrangements, EBA interpretations, and other key policies.
Help develop employee-friendly policies, templates, and intranet content to ensure staff have the tools they need to thrive.
Ideal Candidate: Solid HR generalist experience with a strength and passion for employee relations.
Previous experience working within the P&C function within a unionized environment.
A collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills to build trust with managers and employees alike.
Government or public sector experience preferred, though all sectors with strong ER focus are welcomed.
Ideally you would be immediately available to start.
