State Government Contract (AO5) Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) with a frontline workforce Knowledge of wellbeing, psychosocial safety and RTW processes required
About the Organisation: This organisation is a Queensland state Government Statutory Authority with a dynamic and diverse workforce with interesting roles, ranging from overseeing competitions to animal welfare, strategy, communication, regulation, and more.
The Role: Reporting to the Manager of People and Safety, this autonomous role is part of a small team, responsible for contributing to creating a safer work environment free of injury or incidents and drive a strengthened safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:Co-ordinate and assist in planning and delivery of health and safety programs, processes, resources, education, and reporting in alignment with the Serious about Safety policy and system design.Coordinate the implementation of health and safety initiatives, strategies, and programs to improve organisational health, safety, and wellbeing, contributing to an active safety culture.Coordinate and review the investigation of serious accidents and incidents, and facilitate the preparation of reports on these issues.Monitor and interpret health and safety, workers' compensation, and rehabilitation legislative developments and workplace practices, disseminating this information to relevant personnel.Report all non-compliance issues in accordance with requirements, including through the WHS Committee.Contribute to and model the safety culture by reporting all incidents, near-misses, and hazards, ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all WHS legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.Desired Qualifications and Experience: Experience with frontline workforces would be preferred
Expertise in risk/hazard reporting and remediation
Knowledge of wellbeing, psychosocial safety, workers' compensation, and return-to-work (RTW) processes
Ability to operate autonomously while being part of a team
