About the Role: We are looking for a Project Engineer to be part of the Rail Network Renewals Engineering Team in Dampier. This role is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic team that is responsible for delivering Rio Tinto Rail Division's capital renewals program. The annual renewals program includes:
Turnout renewals Level crossing renewals Plain line renewals High output ballast cleaning Sleeper replacement Rail replacement Additionally, the renewal program scope includes major civil enabling earthworks, culvert extensions, road upgrades, bridge upgrades, and material logistics.
Duties and Responsibilities: Take projects from design into execution and through closeout including quality assurance and handback. Work with the project team and internal stakeholders to deliver major track renewal works. Work with the Senior Engineering Project Leads on the delivery of projects including engineering activities in accordance with RTIO engineering standards. Manage and demonstrate leadership in health, safety, quality and environmental management. Oversee the pre-execution and execution engineering activities of renewal works within a multi-disciplined heavy haul rail environment. Be responsible for the management of scope, time, and quality of the project. Govern the delivery of planned works in alignment with RTIO standards and procedures. Skills and Experience: Tertiary qualification in either Mechanical or Civil Engineering/Construction or similar. Sound knowledge of engineering, construction, and design. Experience in a large infrastructure environment. Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects. Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work in a team and prioritise tasks & common goals. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
