Workboat Operator

OBJECTIVE Ensure safety is not compromised Ensure environmental requirements are adhered to Maintain productivity KEY DUTIES Primary point of contact is the Marine Superintendent or Site Supervisor. Start and stop engines to operate equipment. Direct or assist workers placing shore anchors and cables, laying additional pipes from dredges to shore, and pumping water from pontoons. Ensure the Site Supervisor is promptly provided with any relevant documentation received from either the client or authorities. Ensure site diary/Vessel Log is completed at the completion of each day, accurately recording the day's events. Complete the daily pre-start for the vessel. Operate the workboat in accordance with company-based policy and procedures (WMS). Assist in the investigation of incidents/accidents. Ensure the safety standards of the site are achieved. Requirements: Must have current Skippers Licence and have at least 6-12 months experience, physically fit and willing to assist with ad-hoc labour duties if and where required (Only occasional and if no workboat duties available), construction white card, construction experience is an advantage.
Pay Rate: $55.00 Per Hour Flat
Weekly Hours: Monday – Saturday 10-12 hours per day with occasional Sunday work a possibility.
Duration: Long Term – 3-6 months
